Please take a moment to ask your Michigan State Senator to urge Health Policy and Human Services Chairman Curt VanderWall to hold a hearing on Michigan House Bill 4354, legislation strongly supported by MSHO and ASCO that would ensure that patient cost sharing for oral anticancer drugs is no less favorable than for traditional IV anticancer drugs.

 

Some health plans impose significantly higher cost sharing requirements on cancer patients for oral anticancer drugs than for intravenous or injected drugs. The cost sharing burdens imposed on patients for oral anticancer drugs can create insurmountable financial barriers to optimal treatment, even though some of these treatments have the potential to lower overall cost of care. HB 4354 would help remove this barrier.
